Majority of individuals will receive a red white and blue card and don’t ever throw it away ,keep it in a safe place. Now let’s help you understand it and break it down A= Medical B= Hospital. When you have A&B  just original Medicare you do have to pay for Part B which is a standard monthly premium between 165 or more depends on the way your social security is set up . Now keep in mind you have an option of getting the extra 20% . When you are deciding to just stick with regular Medicare you have to pay for the extra 20% through a Medicare Supplement. Now this will also be a monthly premium depends on which one you pick out that best suit your needs and financial ability . You also are responsible for paying for Part D drug plan .
